What is your primary business/service offered?
Marketing & Social Media Services
How long have you been in business?
A little over a year.
What inspired you to start this business or what inspired the founders to begin this business?
Starting my own business had always been a dream! After over six years of working with small businesses downtown, I felt the time was right.
How does your business give back and support the Rome-Floyd community?
As a business, I have sponsored several things, including Floyd County Schools FAME Pathways at the College and Career Academy, Habitat for Humanity's golf tournament, and the Chamber's Small Business Luncheon. I also use my expertise with the boards I sit on, including Junior Service League, Heart of the Community, Children's Museum of Rome, and Cal's Library.
Why is it important to you and your business to be a chamber member?
Being a part of the Chamber has allowed me to continue to connect and network with small businesses, as well as provide great resources and opportunities!
What makes your business stand out amongst the rest?
I have over seven years of expertise in small business development, social media, and marketing, as well as event planning. These continue to be the biggest issues small businesses need help with. Whether I take over their social media or they come to a class on social media or Canva - I am offering services and expertise rarely found in our community.
We all know owning/running a business can be hard. What is a recent highlight that shows the hard work is worth it?
Honestly, for me, it was hitting the one-year mark. I know people had their doubts if I could make this work (including myself), but continuing to put in the effort and having the passion for this work has truly paid off. I cannot wait to see what the next year holds!
What is the best business advice that you have ever been given?
Not necessarily advice I have been given, but being surrounded by people that truly supported me and what I was doing made such a huge difference. They answered questions I was clueless on, helped provide opportunities, or pushed me to believe in myself in general. Being surrounded by people that believe in you and support you can make such a difference!
What's next for your business?
Soon you will be able to find both free and paid resources on my website, including my class materials. I am hoping to offer my classes virtually in the future, as well. I am also considering starting a community for small businesses to be a part of: they would have first access to my offerings, have a direct line to me, and be able to talk with other small business owners and bounce ideas around.
