Melanin (Melaninz Closet LLC) was founded on March 29, 2022, by Gary Jones, Nick Willis, and Kris Thomas. The three Berry College students started the business with a mission to spread love, inclusion, and unity through homemade wearables. 

The name Melanin was chosen because it represents something that connects us all. Melanin is the natural pigment that gives human skin, hair, and eyes their color. While melanin levels vary across individuals, resulting in different skin tones, every human has some amount of melanin. It's in all of us. 

At Melanin, we embrace the beauty of our shared humanity. We believe that diversity should be celebrated, not divided. Our clothing aims to promote the message that no matter our external differences, we are all one human family. 

In a world so divided, Melanin is our common ground.
