Blue Ridge AHEC (Area Health Education Center), a 501(c)(3), not-for-profit charitable organization based in Rome, Georgia, is a partner with the Georgia Statewide AHEC Network, a partnership coordinated by Augusta University. Our mission is to support the recruitment, education, training and retention of a diverse health professions workforce in the 20-county northwest Georgia region. Through longstanding partnerships with academic institutions, health care facilities (including CHCs), physician practices, behavioral health providers, and community-based organizations, AHECs employ traditional and innovative approaches to develop and train a diverse health care workforce that is prepared to deliver culturally appropriate, high-quality, team-based care.
