The City of Cave Spring is seeking candidates for the position of Water Maintenance Technician. As a Water Maintenance Technician, you will play a critical role in maintaining and repairing our water treatment and distribution systems. This position requires a combination of technical skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to public health and safety.

Key Responsibilities:

• System Maintenance and Repair: Conduct regular maintenance and repair of water treatment equipment and distribution infrastructure to ensure optimal performance.
• Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve issues related to water quality, pressure, and distribution, employing problem-solving skills and technical knowledge.
• Equipment Operation: Operate a variety of tools and equipment, including pumps, valves, meters, and control systems, to manage water flow and treatment processes.
• Water Quality Monitoring: Regularly test water samples for chemical and biological content, ensuring compliance with health and safety standards.
• Emergency Response: Provide rapid and effective response in emergencies, such as water main breaks or contamination incidents, to minimize disruption and health risks.
• Record-Keeping: Maintain accurate and detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs, and test results, in compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Team Collaboration: Work closely with other technicians and departments to coordinate maintenance schedules and address system-wide issues.
• Continuing Education: Stay informed about new technologies, regulations, and best practices in water treatment and distribution.

Minimum Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification in water treatment or related field is a plus.
• Minimum of 6 months of experience preferred in water system maintenance or a related field.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
