Position: Toddler Assistant Teacher/Guide (Ages 18 months-3 years)
Are you passionate about working with children and inspired by the Montessori approach to education? Montessori School of Rome is seeking a caring, energetic, and dependable Toddler Assistant Teacher/Guide to support a thriving classroom community and help students develop independence, confidence, and a lifelong love of learning.
What You'll Do
- Support the Lead Guide and second Assistant Guide in implementing Montessori lessons and maintaining a prepared learning environment.
- Build positive, respectful relationships with students and guide them with patience and enthusiasm.
- Help maintain a safe, organized, and engaging classroom.
- Collaborate closely with teachers, administrators, and families to support student growth.
- Assist with classroom routines, materials preparation, and daily operations.
- Attend staff meetings, parent meetings, and professional development opportunities as needed.
- Ensure compliance with school policies and state licensing requirements.
What We're Looking For
- A genuine love for working with children ages 18 months to 3 years.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to create a nurturing, respectful, and joyful learning environment.
- Commitment to children's safety, well-being, and development.
- Willingness to assist with diapering and other daily care responsibilities.
- Interest in Montessori philosophy and a child-centered learning environment.
- Ability to meet the physical demands of working with toddlers, including lifting, bending, sitting on the floor, and actively engaging with children throughout the day.
