Position Summary: The Tennis Court Maintenance & Grounds Attendant is responsible for the daily upkeep, playability, and appearance of six clay tennis courts, as well as the landscaping and surrounding areas of the tennis facility. This role ensures courts are maintained to high performance standards while providing a safe, clean, and visually appealing environment for members and guests. 

Key Responsibilities: 

Clay Court Maintenance ● Daily brushing, lining, and leveling of all clay courts ● Watering courts to maintain proper moisture levels and playing conditions ● Repairing low spots, worn areas, and court surfaces as needed ● Dragging courts between play sessions when required ● Maintaining proper net height and court accessories ● Monitoring court conditions and proactively addressing issues Court Opening & Closing Procedures ● Prepare courts for daily play (morning setup) ● Inspect courts throughout the day for safety and playability ● Close courts as needed (weather-related or end-of-day procedures) Landscaping & Grounds Maintenance ● Maintain surrounding areas including walkways, spectator areas, and landscaping ● Mowing, trimming, edging, and general lawn care ● Maintain irrigation systems for both courts and landscaping ● Leaf removal, debris cleanup, and seasonal upkeep ● Ensure overall club exterior is clean, safe, and presentable Equipment & Facility Care ● Operate and maintain court maintenance equipment (rollers, drag mats, sweepers, etc.) ● Perform basic maintenance and report equipment issues ● Maintain storage areas in an organized and safe condition Safety & Compliance ● Ensure courts meet safety standards at all times ● Follow proper procedures for chemical use (if applicable) ● Assist with weather-related court protection (rain protocols, covering, drainage) Qualifications ● General landscaping or groundskeeping experience ● Ability to operate light machinery and maintenance equipment ● Strong attention to detail and pride in maintaining high standards ● Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions ● Reliable, self-motivated, and able to work independently Physical Requirements ● Ability to lift 50+ lbs ● Standing, walking, bending, and manual labor for extended periods ● Comfortable working early mornings, weekends, and in outdoor conditions Schedule ● Typically early mornings, weekends, and flexible hours based on court usage and weather conditions Preferred Traits (for a high-end club feel) ● Takes ownership of the facility appearance ● Proactive in identifying issues before they become problems ● Team-oriented with good communication skills ● Pride in delivering a “tour-level” court experience
