Student Financial Services Coordinator
This position plays an integral role in coordinating information from multiple offices across campus in order to successfully produce charges for student tuition billing. In addition, this position helps support our students and families by answering questions related to their accounts. The ideal candidate will demonstrate initiative, organization, self-motivation, attention to detail, ability to multitask, and be team oriented. Essential Functions/Responsibilities of the Position:
Coordinate:
- Application of charges, fees, and financial aid to student accounts for tuition and summer short-term international programs
- With the International Programs office, for the successful billing and payment of student invoices for study abroad programs and experiences
- Refund credits from student accounts in compliance with federal guidelines, and calculate refunds for withdrawals/leave of absences.
Process:
- Tuition bills
- Meal plan change requests
- Outside billing invoices for the payment of tuition and related charges
- Graduate assistant tuition remission requests
- Track student accounts that are delinquent and work with collection agencies to resolve the outstanding balances
- Supervising and mentoring students as part of the LifeWorks program
- Create reports to help analyze departmental data
Other Functions/Responsibilities of the Position:
- In the absence of the Student Financial Services Specialist and student team, assist students and families with questions regarding their account
- Provide support during new student orientation (SOAR) through parent information sessions
- Work with auditors to demonstrate processes and procedures
- Other duties and projects as assigned
Requirements:
- Undergraduate degree
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a focus on customer service
- Ability to create efficiencies within current systems and streamline existing processes
- Exceptional problem solving and critical thinking abilities along with the ability to prioritize tasks
- Experience working with databases and information systems, proficiency in Microsoft Office products, and the ability to adapt to multiple software systems, Jenzabar experience is a plus
