Berry College invites applications for a Simulation and Lab Operations Manager (SLO). The SLO is a 12-month staff member who will work with faculty to plan, operate, coordinate, and oversee the lab and simulation for the PA and nursing programs. The SLO will collaborate with the Nursing and PA Program Directors and faculty to ensure the safe and effective use of the simulation labs and skills, and procedure lab facilities.
The Division of Nursing at Berry College was launched in the Fall of 2012 and quickly matured into a first-rate program, as evidenced by NCLEX pass rates and the quality and diversity of our graduates' job placements. Berry College has been given provisional accreditation with the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA) and has dedicated adequate resources for building a high-quality program with excellent faculty and facilities. The date to matriculate the first PA class is Fall 2025. To support Berry's Nursing and PA program, the College is on track to complete a new health-sciences building with offices and shared classrooms, a laboratory, and a simulation space. The SLO will collaborate with the Program Directors and the programmatic simulation leadership to establish, review, and research policies, standard practices, and procedures related to the skills, procedures, and simulation lab, focusing on continuous quality improvement. In addition to other assigned duties, the SLO will
- Assist with quality and safety of simulation activities, tracking of data, initiatives, research, and compilation of reports to facilitate accreditation requirements.
- Collaborate with course faculty in scheduling, organizing, and delivering lab and simulation activities to meet the needs and schedule of the course.
- Ensure safety and maintain OSHA standards within the lab, including appropriate disposal of hazardous waste and sharps.
- Monitor inventory and orders necessary supplies for the skills, procedures, and simulation labs, including performing the annual inventory.
- Ensure maintenance of simulation manikins, simulation recording and tracking platforms, and other equipment in the skills, procedures, and simulation lab; initiates repair and maintains appropriate warranties.
- Provide orientation to new faculty and student workers regarding the simulation lab's policies, procedures, and use.
Requirements:
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or advanced degree in technology or a healthcare-related field, or in an equally qualified field.
- 2 to 4 years of experience in simulation.
- Experienced in operating, managing, and maintaining Gaumard and Laerdal simulation equipment.
- Experience operating, managing, and maintaining Level 3's Learning Management System.
- Experienced in audiovisual recording and editing.
- Experienced in 3D printing, task trainer fabrication, and moulage application.
- Licensure as an Emergency Medical Technician or greater.
Minimum Qualifications
- Associate's degree in technology or a healthcare-related field, or in an equally qualified field.
- Minimum of one year of experience in simulation or related healthcare experience.
- Experienced in operating, managing, and maintaining learning management systems.
- Experienced using Microsoft Office and data gathering/interpreting applications.
