Job Summary  

We are seeking a skilled and proactive Sales Assistant to support our sales team. This office-based role requires a multitasker who excels in organization, communication, and advanced Excel use. The ideal candidate will assist with customer service, sales coordination, order management, and logistics, while also managing inventory levels and ensuring timely shipments. A self-starting attitude and a willingness to contribute to our legacy are essential. While experience/knowledge in lumber/forest products, logistics, manufacturing, CAD, blueprints, or compliance is a bonus, it’s not required. 


Key Responsibilities  

- Assist our Sales associates with customer inquiries and process sales orders efficiently and accurately. 

- Manage sales orders, including tracking pick ticket status and ensuring order accuracy. 

- Schedule shipments and coordinate with logistics teams to ensure timely product deliveries. 

- Maintain and update sales records, databases, and reports using advanced Excel tools. 

- Monitor and manage inventory levels to align with sales needs and prevent stockouts. 

- Assist in creating sales reports, certifications, and compliance-related documentation. 

- Communicate clearly with customers, sales staff, and other departments to resolve issues. 

- Proactively identify ways to improve sales support processes. 


Qualifications and Skills  

**Required:** 

  - Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively in a dynamic environment. 

  - Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUP, data analysis). 

  - Strong organizational skills with keen attention to detail. 

  - Excellent verbal and written communication skills. 

  - Self-motivated with a proactive, independent work style. 

**Preferred:** 

  - Knowledge of lumber/forest products

  - Experience in logistics, supply chain coordination, or order management. 

  - Background in manufacturing processes or environments. 

  - Familiarity with CAD software and blueprint reading. 

  - Knowledge of compliance standards, particularly in the guardrail industry.

Work Environment  

This is an office-based position with no heavy lifting required. There will be times when it is necessary to inspect lumber products on our lumber yard.  You’ll work in a collaborative, supportive setting, contributing to the success of our sales team and the company as a whole.
