RECREATION PROGRAM COORDINATOR
Floyd County is looking for a Recreation Program Coordinator!
The purpose of this classification is to coordinate and supervise recreation programs, events, facility operations, and staff at an assigned recreation center to provide safe, effective, and engaging recreational services to the community.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

- Supervises, directs, and evaluates assigned staff, including scheduling, training, performance management, and employee development.
- Plans, coordinates, promotes, and evaluates recreation, fitness, and community programs, activities, and special events.
- Manages program registration, activity scheduling, facility reservations, and maintenance of related records and databases.
- Assist in developing and implementing marketing and promotional strategies, including creating social media content and outreach materials to increase public awareness and program participation.
- Coordinates facility operations and event logistics, including room setup, event preparation, and maintenance of facility-use schedules.
- Performs financial and administrative functions, including preparing reports, maintaining records, and completing required documentation.
- Provides customer service and serves as a liaison with participants, staff, vendors, sponsors, volunteers, and the public to address inquiries, resolve issues, and support recreation services.
- Lead recruitment efforts for parks and recreation programs to ensure adequate program staffing.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Associate’s degree in recreation, parks and recreation management, physical education, leisure services, education, business administration, or a related field, or college credit or coursework equivalent to an associate’s degree; and one (1) year of experience coordinating recreation programs, events, customer service operations, or facility activities; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. Must possess and maintain valid Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and First Aid certifications within one (1) year of hire. Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license.
