Salary Range: $42,000-$45,000

Reports to: Executive Director


Since 1978, Hospitality House for Women, Inc. (HHFW) has been dedicated to fighting the cycle of domestic violence in Rome / Floyd County. We provide 24/365 service in a 27 bed facility to qualified women and their children, as well as counseling, legal advocacy, and financial assistance as Outreach Services to those who don't need shelter. As part of our mission, we engage in programs that offer awareness to youth and our community at large.


Position Summary:

The Program Manager assists the Executive Director in the overall management of service programs and operation of the agency which provides services to victims of domestic violence. The Program Manager will assist the Executive Director in each department of the organization, including but not limited to outreach and shelter services, personnel and day-to-day operations. 


Duties and Responsibilities:

Administrative Duties

- In the absence of the Executive Director (ED), oversees all day-to-day operations of the center.

- Assist the financial department with day-to-day functions as deemed necessary.

- Assist with grants, including grant management and grant writing.

- Ensure effective management of resources within the operation of the agency.

- Adherence to and monitoring of agency policies/procedures and programmatic standards for efficacy.

- Complete monthly, quarterly and annual reporting for the purpose of grant management and board reports.

- Assist with human resources duties.

- Collaborate with local and state organizations to improve shelter resources and to share the mission and goals.

- Ensure progress toward fulfillment of agency’s mission through staff and community outreach.

- Oversee safety and cleanliness of the facility to ensure guest and employee wellbeing. 

- Comply with safety regulations and conduct duties in a safe manner.

- Oversee that a complete list of shelter inventory is maintained by the shelter advocate and updated consistently. 

Staff Management

- Demonstrate an effective leadership style that facilitates teamwork, quality service and problem resolution.

- Identify training needs and professional development of staff.

- Conduct bi-weekly individual and group supervision with staff.

- Assist ED with agency-based or external training opportunities to meet annual staff requirements.

- Ensure complete and accurate resident reporting in database. 

- Monitor professionalism and presentation of staff members with clients and community partners.

- Oversee scheduling of appropriate shelter and crisis line coverage for day, night and weekend shifts.

Client Services

- Regularly provides on-call coverage.

- Answer 24-hour crisis line as assigned and accurately documents call information into database.

- Provide crisis intervention to all callers to include individualized safety planning, emotional support, validation of the victim’s experience and feelings, and any information or referrals needed.

- Ensure up-to-date community resource information for domestic violence victims.

- Oversee the development of a resident’s service plan to include client-driven goals, resource referral and utilization, financial assistance and ongoing safety plans and services.

- Conduct exit interviews for residents to ensure quality of services provided.

Qualifications

- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Social Work, Criminal Justice, or related field, OR and Associate’s Degree and equivalent of 5 years’ experience in social service field.  

- Minimum one year’s experience working with a non-profit, government agency and/or community service.

- Must have a valid driver’s license.

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills

- Ability to work effectively with a diverse group of individuals.

- CPR and First Aid Certified

- Preferred skills include strong management and supervision, effective communication, time management, administrative and organizational skills, computer and technology skills, and a sense of personal and community responsibility.

- Physical requirements: May require some heavy lifting and otherwise typical office tasks
