We are currently seeking a dependable, organized, and friendly Check-Out Clerical Staff member to join our growing team. This position is extremely important in helping patients leave their appointments feeling supported, informed, and cared for.
Position Summary
The Check-Out Clerical Staff member is responsible for managing the patient check-out process, scheduling follow-up appointments, collecting payments, assisting with administrative tasks, and helping maintain smooth office workflow. Medical office experience is preferred. The ideal candidate is professional, detail-oriented, compassionate, and able to multitask in a busy healthcare environment.
Responsibilities
- Check patients out after appointments
- Schedule follow-up visits and future appointments
- Collect copays, balances, and payments
- Review provider instructions with patients when needed
- Assist patients with portal access and paperwork
- Answer phones and route calls appropriately
- Verify demographic and insurance information
- Scan and upload documents into the EMR system
- Maintain organized and accurate patient records
- Help ensure smooth patient flow throughout the office
- Provide excellent customer service and create a welcoming environment
Qualifications
- Experience in a medical office preferred
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Ability to multitask and stay organized in a fast-paced environment
- Comfortable using computers and EMR systems
- Professional appearance and positive attitude
