Patient Care Representative
At Walker Orthotics and Prosthetics we are a dynamic, local small business that is seeking very specific types of team members who are looking to have a positive impact on the people in our community through compassionate care. We currently have a need for a patient care representative who will be responsible all administrative tasks related to patients under our specific and unique care. These items of care include:
- Being a complete resource for patients including scheduling appointments, answering questions, and guiding them through the episode of care process
- Checking patients in and out, being a friendly advocate during their visits
- Verifying insurance eligibility
- Requesting documentation from referring providers
- Creating and maintaining electronic medical records
- Answering incoming phone calls
Experience Sought:
1-2+ years working in a medical office setting with familiarity with medical records, insurance benefits, etc
Education Required:
Minimum of high school diploma; Technical school or related training is beneficial. Two-year degree a plus.
Skills Needed for Success:
- Friendly, caring, professional demeanor with empathy for others
- Detailed nature with commitment to finish all tasks
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Computer literate with knowledge of basic software applications.
- Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize, and organize.
- Ability to work well with other team members and referring providers
