Position Summary:

This position is responsible for strengthening community partnerships and assisting underserved and marginalized women who are victims of domestic violence through outreach services. They will provide culturally responsive outreach and supportive domestic violence services to increase safety and stability. This is a part-time, hourly, grant-funded position at 25 hours per week.


Duties and Responsibilities:

• Provide crisis intervention to all callers to include individualized safety planning, emotional support, validation of the victim’s experience and feelings, and any information or referrals needed.

• Serve as the point of contact for non-residential clients in conducting eligibility screening, safety planning, case planning, ongoing case management as indicated by a needs assessment and client goals.

• Address barriers to access of service by linking victims of domestic violence with language services and referrals for medical care, mental health and substance use disorder.

• Strengthen partnerships with other community agencies and organizations such as shelters, schools, senior centers, faith-based establishments, health providers and social services, in conjunction with the outreach team.

• Develop, plan, and execute awareness initiatives, events, and opportunities including an online presence with social media and participation in social media initiatives.

• Develop a referral process to link victims of domestic violence to outreach services.

• Represent Hospitality House for Women at coalition and collaborative meetings with community partners.

• Enter all relevant data into respective databases to track and measure deliverables and outcomes.

• Adhere to agency policies and work rules including strict adherence to confidentiality policies and code of ethics.

• Maintain an up-to-date community resource information for domestic violence victims.

• Attend agency staff meetings as requested by Assistant or Executive Director

• Attend 40 hours of online domestic violence and sexual assault training within the first 90 days of hire.

• Attend additional training and continuing education as assigned at a minimum of 20 hrs. annually after the first year.

• Maintain current CPR and First Aid certification.


Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Social Work, Criminal Justice, or related field

• Minimum one year’s experience working with a non-profit, government agency and/or community service.

• Must have a valid driver’s license.

• Preferred skills include excellent interpersonal and communication skills, the ability to work with highly sensitive and confidential information, a commitment to demonstrate cultural humility in serving marginalized populations, strong work ethic, ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously, positive attitude and the ability to work individually and as a team.

• Physical requirements: May require some heavy lifting and otherwise typical office tasks
