Position: Part-Time Late Stay/After School Care Assistant (Ages 18 months-3 years)
Are you passionate about working with young children and inspired by the Montessori approach to education? Montessori School of Rome is seeking a caring, energetic, and dependable Part-Time Late Stay/After School Care Assistant to support our Toddler and Primary students during the afternoon extended care program. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys creating a warm, engaging, and nurturing environment where children feel safe, supported, and encouraged to explore and play. Typical Schedule: Monday-Friday, approximately 2:30p.m.–5:30p.m. (hours may vary based on school needs).
What You'll Do
- Supervise and engage Toddler and Primary students (ages 18 months to 6 years) in a safe, respectful, and nurturing after-school environment.
- Plan and lead age-appropriate activities, including outdoor play, arts and crafts, games, stories, and quiet activities.
- Build positive, supportive relationships with children while encouraging independence, kindness, and cooperation.
- Help maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming late stay environment.
- Assist with snack time and ensure proper health, safety, and sanitation practices are followed.
- Support daily routines, including bathroom assistance, diapering for toddlers as needed, student transitions, and dismissal procedures.
- Communicate effectively with fellow staff members, administrators, and families as needed.
- Ensure compliance with school policies and state licensing requirements.
