Motorcycle/ATV Technician - Entry-Level Set-up & Assembly

Entry-Level Set-Up & Assembly Technician

We are seeking a dependable, motivated, and mechanically minded individual to join our team as an Entry-Level Set-Up & Assembly Technician. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working with their hands, has an interest in motorcycles, ATVs, MUVs, or other recreational vehicles, and is eager to learn and develop mechanical skills.

Previous professional technician experience is not required. We are willing to train the right person. The ideal candidate is someone who takes pride in their work, pays attention to detail, follows instructions carefully, and is interested in building a long-term career with a family-oriented dealership.

We are looking for more than someone who can simply complete a task. We want a team player who is willing to learn, help wherever needed, work well with others, and genuinely wants to be part of our dealership.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble and prepare motorcycles, ATVs, MUVs, and other recreational vehicles according to manufacturer specifications and dealership standards.
  • Perform basic set-up, maintenance, and service tasks with training and guidance.
  • Learn and properly use hand tools, shop equipment, and other equipment necessary for the position.
  • Follow manufacturer procedures and instructions to ensure vehicles are assembled safely and correctly.
  • Inspect completed work and perform quality-control checks before vehicles are placed on the sales floor or delivered to customers.
  • Learn to identify basic mechanical and electrical issues and communicate any concerns to a more experienced technician or manager.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
  • Properly complete required paperwork and document work performed.
  • Assist with vehicle preparation, moving vehicles, and other dealership needs as necessary.
  • Work cooperatively with technicians, sales staff, parts personnel, and other team members.
  • Attend manufacturer or technician training as required.
  • Take on additional responsibilities and develop more advanced mechanical skills as experience and training increase.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Previous professional technician experience is not required; training will be provided for the right candidate.
  • Mechanical aptitude and an interest in learning how things work.
  • Previous experience working with tools, equipment, vehicles, motorcycles, ATVs, or similar mechanical projects is a plus.
  • Ability and willingness to learn new skills and follow instructions carefully.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to doing quality work.
  • Dependable, hardworking, and willing to take initiative.
  • Ability to work independently once trained, while also being a dependable and cooperative team member.
  • Pleasant, professional attitude and ability to work well with coworkers and customers.
  • Willingness to help with other dealership responsibilities when needed.
  • Ability to work efficiently and maintain a positive attitude in a fast-paced environment, particularly during busy seasons.
  • Willingness to attend required manufacturer and technician training.
  • Must be willing and able to learn and develop the skills necessary to advance within the position.
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening.

What We’re Looking For

Our dealership is a family-oriented business, and we believe our employees are an important part of that family. We are looking for someone who wants to build a relationship with the team and the dealership—not someone who is simply looking for a job.

The right candidate does not need to know everything on day one. We can teach the technical skills to someone who has the right attitude and work ethic. We are looking for someone who is dependable, honest, hardworking, willing to learn, and willing to pitch in when needed.

We value people who take pride in their work, treat others with respect, pay attention to the details, and understand that every department plays a role in creating a great experience for our customers.

If you enjoy working with your hands, have an interest in powersports and mechanics, and are looking for an opportunity to learn a skilled trade and grow with a team, we would like to hear from you.

Compensation: Commensurate with experience and qualifications.
