JOB SUMMARY (PURPOSE): Major responsibilities include but are not limited to;

Assist to maximize line and output efficiency by analyzing layout of equipment, workflow, assembly methods, determining parts and tools needed to achieve manufacturing goals.

Ability to create accurate, functional designs quickly and economically.

Determine root causes of failures and recommend changes in designs, tolerances, or processing methods.

Incorporate new methods and processes to improve existing operations.

Troubleshoot new and existing production problems involving designs, materials, or processes.

Work closely with production staff to ensure new products are manufactured according to specification.

Interact with other production personnel to ensure consistent product flow and continuous improvement.

Reviews and approves adjustments to the line based on customer input and requirements.


JOB REQUIREMENTS:             

Previous manufacturing experience in a chemical process setting is preferred.

Proficient in chemistry applications, working knowledge of general chemical properties and techniques. Experience in coating process technology, techniques and production is desired.


 EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering or a related field.


WORKING CONDITIONS: Possible discomfort from chemicals, odors, vapors, fumes and dust. The candidate must be able to pass a respirator fit examination.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Support the department in achieving better production runs and product reliability.             

2. Work closely with the production team to support and assist with troubleshooting.     

3. Assist with the development of operating manuals, work instructions, ISO forms, etc.

4. Assist with the development and implementation of new products, processes, and equipment and provide engineering expertise.                                   

5. Provide engineering and technical support to the line(s), assist with line trials and M&E projects.                             

6. Take charge of projects assigned and assist with design change projects.                    

7. Interface with employees, customers, and vendors to gain or provide technical and engineering information.          

8. Assist with new equipment, process, or chemical training.                                                      

9. Train/Assist production and Q&E departments to gain technical knowledge/expertise.

10. Stay abreast of engineering innovations related to the coating industry to provide innovation.                                 

11. Calculate and set chemical flow rates, pressure settings, and thickness of coating heads. 

12. Assist with the Calibration of equipment.                                                                                                  

13. Apply liquid mixing procedures to troubleshoot and provide support to production.           

14. Conduct hand coatings.                                                                                                

15. Assist with product samples.                                                                                                                    

16. Use Q&E instruments to gather data and to provide line support.                     

17. Any other tasks as assigned.
