The Department of Mathematics and Computer Science at Berry College invites applications for a full-time lecturer position in Mathematics, open specialty, to begin in August 2026.

Situated in a selective independent college with a liberal arts and sciences core, the department is invested in innovative pedagogy through active learning methods and mentoring students from a wide range of backgrounds. The candidate should share our department's commitment to student engagement inside and outside of the classroom for all students. The candidate will have the opportunity to work with students and faculty from a variety of disciplines within the School of Mathematical and Natural Sciences and across the college.

Primary duties of this position include teaching courses in support of the department's major programs as well as Foundations (general education) offerings. Additional duties, depending on the candidate's expertise and interest, could include the coordination and supervision of departmental initiatives and activities, including supervising student work opportunities within the department, academic support for students, and outreach efforts beyond campus. Berry College has a vibrant student work program (LifeWorks). As a LifeWorks supervisor, the candidate will have opportunities for training and development through the LifeWorks office. The candidate will also be supported in applying for Project NExT or other professional development programs.



Requirements:

Applicants must hold a Ph.D. in mathematics or a closely related field. Applicants who are ABD should include documentation that the requirements for the degree will be completed by August 2026. To apply, click here.
