Scope of Position: The Laundry Attendant performs a variety of laundry duties to provide clean and sanitary linens for our guests, including but not limited to washing, drying, pressing, sorting and inspecting items for wear and stains. 

Reports to: Team Leader, Housekeeping and Laundry

Responsibilities

• Sorts, washes, dries and folds laundry 
• Presses linens and chef coats 
• Removes stains where possible and contacts management when an item is too damaged to continue using 
• Operates washers, dryers, and pressers in accordance with safety standards 
• Reads and understands directions for operating machines and recognizes when a machine is not functioning properly 
• Cleans laundry according to set standards and within set time limits 
• Maintains laundry room and equipment in a clean and orderly manner 
• Performs other duties as assigned  

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred 
• Previous laundry experience preferred, none required 
• Ability to lift/carry up to 25 lbs. 
• Ability to bend, stretch, and do much standing 
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team 
• Self-discipline and ability to complete repetitious tasks while maintaining quality 
• Commitment to being present at appropriate times to work, all shifts, all days 
• Exhibits the following competencies: dependability, team player, job knowledge, initiative, and problem solving
