Applicants must:

  • Have reliable transportation and be willing to travel throughout all 15 NWGA counties.
  • Be comfortable visiting consumers' homes, nursing facilities, schools, businesses, and community events.
  • Be proficient with Microsoft Office 365, email, online databases, and electronic documentation.
  • Be capable of managing a full caseload independently.
  • Successfully pass a criminal background check.

Position Summary

NWGA Center for Independent Living is seeking a professional who is dependable, self-directed, and committed to serving individuals with disabilities. This position requires professionalism, accountability, and the ability to manage a demanding workload while representing the organization throughout the community.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Serve individuals with disabilities in achieving independent living goals.
  • Maintain consumer files, documentation, and required reporting.
  • Conduct assessments, advocacy, referrals, and independent living skills training.
  • Travel throughout the 15-county service area.
  • Develop relationships with community partners and agencies.
  • Manage a demanding caseload with minimal supervision.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or comparable human services experience.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Background check required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Knowledge of disability rights and Independent Living Philosophy preferred.

Professional Expectations

  • Maintain confidentiality and professional conduct at all times.
  • Meet deadlines and complete documentation accurately.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors, coworkers, and community partners.
  • Represent NWGA CIL professionally in the community.
  • Failure to meet performance expectations may result in disciplinary action.
