POSITION: Grants Coordinator

POSITION DESCRIPTION: The Grants Coordinator is a shared position between Chattahoochee

Technical College (Chatt Tech) and Georgia Northwestern Technical College (GNTC). The Grants

Coordinator will identify, define and develop funding sources to support existing and planned program

activities as well as lead the development, writing, and submission of grant proposals to federal,

state, and private funding agencies. The Grants Coordinator will administer and monitor non-

Foundation grants.

Primary responsibilities include preparation of proposals and grant applications, and performance of

responsible professional and administrative work in researching, identifying, developing and

responding to public and private grant opportunities in areas that support Chattahoochee Technical

College and/or Georgia Northwestern Technical College programs. The position is also responsible

for collecting, analyzing, and reporting data on the performance of program activities that are funded

by federal, state, and private funding agencies.

MAJOR DUTIES:

GRANT WRITING

ï‚· Generates revenues through timely and high-quality proposals, narratives, applications and

supporting documents in response to grant solicitations consistent with all policies and

procedures of Chatt Tech and GNTC, and the requirements and guidelines of the funding

agencies

ï‚· Develops grant budget based on program proposal, grant guidelines and budget requirements

ï‚· Fosters growth and implementation of best practices for all grant-related functions, including

proposal-writing, budget development, and data integrity

ï‚· Researches and compiles pertinent institutional information for projects requiring funding

ADMINISTRATIVE

ï‚· Administers and monitors Chatt Tech and GNTC (non-Foundation) grant projects/contracts

ï‚· Maintains files containing information (e.g., grant applications, budget amendments, audit

reports)

ï‚· Provides technical expertise, information and problem resolution for grant related activities

ï‚· Communicate with faculty and staff regarding allowability of proposed expenditures related to

all specific grants

ï‚· Notifies appropriate Vice President on the progress of all grants and issues that may arise with

each grant

ï‚· Maintains confidentiality of information exposed to in the course of business regarding

students, supervisors or other employees

ï‚· Maintains communication with the business office on financial accounting and reconciliation of

grants

RESEARCH AND PLANNING

ï‚· Researches and identifies new government, corporate, foundation and private funding

prospects to match Chatt Tech and GNTC priorities

ï‚· Remains up-to-date on current issues relative to grant proposals

ï‚· Meets regularly with faculty/staff to discuss current and new funding needs

ï‚· Become cognizant of regulations & other matters of compliance with all grants including the

GAN, FAQs, CFRs, email, webinars and all other communiques from the Department of

Education as they relate to the grants

ï‚· Ensures that grant prospects and grant proposals are communicated in a timely manner to

both colleges’ Vice Presidents

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

ï‚· High School diploma required and ten years of documented experience OR Associate’s

degree in related field and 5 years of documented experience OR Bachelor’s degree in related

field

ï‚· Ability to communicate effectively

ï‚· Possession of or ability to readily obtain a valid driver’s license issued by the State of Georgia

for the type of vehicle or equipment operated

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

ï‚· Three or more years of documented grant writing and/or grant management experience
