FULL-TIME LEAD TEACHER

FULL-TIME LEAD TEACHER
The South Rome Early Learning Center (SRELC), housed in Anna K. Davie Elementary School, is a partnership between Berry College and Rome City Schools. SRELC's mission is to prepare 3-year-old children for successful entry into kindergarten through a comprehensive curriculum designed to develop cognitive skills, foundational development, and social-emotional growth. The curriculum, developed by Berry College teacher education professors, is modeled after Berry's laboratory preschool, in operation for more than four decades. SRELC follows the Georgia Early Learning and Development Standards and is licensed with the highest possible rating by the Georgia Department of Early Care and Learning. The center is dedicated to providing learning activities that will allow children to use their senses as they grow and learn. Special emphasis is placed on literacy: helping children learn to listen, speak, and enjoy books and stories.
A lead teacher at the SRELC plans and implements a Pre-K curriculum, as outlined by the Georgia Department of Early Care and Learning, Bright from the Start. This individual will work in collaboration with the assistant teacher, the other Pre-K classroom teacher, college students, and the director. The educator will be responsible for the well-being, physical, and emotional health of the children. The lead teacher is responsible for communicating with families daily.
