The financial aid advisor has the primary responsibility of packaging financial aid for all incoming students.  Advisor communicates financial aid packages to students and their families and assists with any questions they might have. The financial aid advisor is responsible for creating PowerPoints for student orientations and is also the presenter at the events (Preview Days, Orientation Week, and high school financial aid nights). 


Job duties include:

1.    Import student data from admissions into PowerFAIDS while monitoring data and process integrity

2.    Coordinate with admissions the scholarship amounts for incoming students.

3.    Help ensure financial aid awards for student athletes are in compliance with NCAA regulations.

4.    Evaluate student eligibility for federal and state aid programs.

5.    Process federal, state, and institutional financial aid for all incoming students accurately and in a timely manner complying with all applicable policies and procedures.

6.    Counsel with parents and students as necessary to explain their financial aid package and options for paying the remaining balance on their bill.

7.    Supervise student workers in the financial aid office

8.    Ensure students are completing financial aid tasks in a timely and efficient manner

9.    Assist with monitoring Office mail, e-mail, and phone communications and responding in a timely manner

10.    Prepare presentation and materials at all new student orientations

11.    Assist Residence Life staff by being part of the team that represents Financial Aid staff at all move-in days

12.    Other duties as assigned


Job qualifications:

1.    Bachelor’s degree preferred

2.    Exceptional customer service skills required

3.    Strong analytical abilities

4.    Ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain attention to detail

5.    Maintain confidentiality of student records

6.    Stay up to date on federal, state and institutional financial aid policies

7.    Ability to quickly and accurately learn and implement new processes

8.    Experience in PowerFAIDs and Jenzabar preferred

9.    Some travel will be required
