Finance Specialist with focus on School Nutrition
Job Summary:
To perform skilled & semi-skilled work in accounting for the purposes of providing support to the Finance Department staff and local school bookkeepers
Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent with minimum of 3 years’ experience within accounting and/or management Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field preferred.
Essential Functions:
â—Ź Must be able to follow both written and oral instructions and carry out assignments on time.
â—Ź Able to operate as part of a team.
â—Ź Compiles data and processes documents from a variety of sources for the purpose of complying with financial, legal, and/or administrative requirements.
â—Ź Maintains documents, files, and records for the purpose of providing up-to-date reference and audit trail for compliance.
â—Ź Monitors school financial activities (School Café requirements, local transfer of funds) for the purpose of coordinating activities and ensuring compliance with established financial, legal, and/or administrative requirements.
â—Ź Prepares and/or processes written materials (e.g. reports, memos, letters, etc.) for the purpose of documenting activities, providing written reference, and/or conveying information.
â—Ź Reconciles cash and/or account balances as assigned for the purpose of maintaining accurate balances and complying with general accounting practices.
â—Ź Responds to inquiries from a variety of internal parties (school bookkeepers, school administrators, other county office departments) for the purpose of providing information, facilitating communication among parties, and for providing direction.
â—Ź Attends meetings as assigned for the purpose of conveying and/or gathering information required to perform functions.
â—Ź Analyzes fiscal data (e.g. reports, data returned checks,etc.) for the purpose of determining feasibility of service within budget parameters and making recommendations.
â—Ź Informs personnel and vendors regarding a variety of procedures and program requirements for the purpose of providing necessary information for completing transactions, taking appropriate action and/or complying with established fiscal guidelines.
â—Ź Assists other personnel for the purpose of ensuring timely and accurate work output.
â—Ź DOE State reporting.
â—Ź Must be able to travel to system sites and verify construction projects progress.
â—Ź Use of personal cell phone for multi factor authentication.
â—Ź Other duties as assigned to support the overall function of the Finance Department.
