Job Summary
This position will assThis position will assist This position will assist the Dental Hygiene Department Director and Administrative Assistant in the day-to-day operations of the department programs and the dental hygiene clinic. Also, the position may work directly with faculty members in the department.
Responsibilities
• Is responsible to understand, support, and carry out the college's mission, vision, and values and comply with mandates and regulations of government and accrediting bodies.
• Assists with duties related to the operation of a dental hygiene clinic which services around 1,000 patients annually.
• Is exposed to confidential patient/student records and must comply with HIPAA and FERPA guidelines and must conduct work duties in a professional manner. Patient service assignments require exposure to confidential patient and/or student records.
• Provides support for the Director and Administrative Assistant as related to accreditation preparation.
• Assists with the organization of department events/activities.
• Assists with organization of dental equipment records and infection control records.
• Assists with supplies for the clinic, classrooms, or labs.
• Assists with records management.
• Perform other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
• Must be currently enrolled at Georgia Highlands College
• Must be Pell Grant eligible (FAFSA)
• Must be making Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP)
• Must have an unmet need based on total cost of attendance of student
Proposed Salary
$12.00 per hour
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
• Knowledge and ability to operate Microsoft office
• Critical thinking, decision making, problem solving within area of responsibility
• Understanding of customer service with experience
• Ability to follow specific directions
• Ability to communicate effectively and appropriately
• Ability to work independently on a task and utilize appropriate critical thinking, decision making, and problem solving within area of responsibility
