AMBER GRACE 

JOB DESCRIPTION: EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

REPORTING TO: BOARD OF DIRECTORS 

General Description: The Executive Director provides servant leadership to the Neighbors and team members of Amber  Grace. Representing the Board as the face of the organization, the Executive Director will communicate the strategic  direction and high-quality vision for the community. Operating from a place of holism, the Executive Director develops the culture, ensures operational excellence and reports performance and outcomes to designated stakeholders. The Executive Director will, in all things, lead from a place of faith in Jesus Christ and wisdom from the Word of God as the foundation for  decision making, interactions and strategy for the Community. 

Workplace Culture 

• Champions the concept, principles and services of Amber Grace 

• Passionately upholds and models Amber Grace’s Mission, Core Values and  

                    Principles of  Service through which all decisions and motivations are filtered 

Operational and Strategic Leadership 

• Oversees day-to-day business operations of Amber Grace under the general       

                    directives of  the Board and established bylaws 

• Serves as a professional representative of Amber Grace in the 

                    community-at-large  including, but not limited to, the medical community,   

                    faith-based entities, outside support  agencies, ancillary providers, civic groups 

                    and private and governmental agencies 

       • Serves as the Amber Grace liaison to Berry College, the current Berry College 

        president and Winshape. 

• Plans and maintains an ongoing quality improvement program to correct 

                    deficiencies  and make process improvements 

• Reviews incidents as they occur, assesses trends and develops action plans 

                    monthly • Regularly meets with department heads to ensure collaboration and 

                    support, while convening monthly gatherings for performance review, 

                    information sharing, fostering  relationships, and celebrating successes. 

• Demonstrates a commitment to lifelong learning 

• Participates in professional development opportunities that increase one’s 

                    effectiveness  in the role 


Community Center Program 

• Oversees and ensures community center program integrity and its effective 

                    Execution

                  • Routinely engages with Neighbors 

Human Resources

• Recruit, train, and supervise staff members, fostering a positive and productive 

                    work  environment 

• Implement performance evaluation processes 

• Actively seeks development opportunities for self and team to remain current in the 

                    care  and service of adults with developmental disabilities 

Fiduciary Responsibilities 

• Accountable to the Board of Directors, as an ex-officio member, in leading a 

                    not-for profit organization 

• Reviews, interprets and acts upon monthly financial results 

• Leads the development of the annual operating budget and manages purchasing 

                    within the budget 

Regulatory and Quality Assurances 

• Fluent in the regulations for Assisted Living Communities in Georgia 

• Ensures Quality Improvement and Risk Management reviews 

• Ensures routine safety reviews and is compliant with OSHA regulations 

• Ensures compliance with regulatory requirements and Community policies 

                    and  procedures by Neighbors, team members, families/guardians and 

                    visitors 

• Ensures the safety strategy for the Neighbors and whole community 

Fundraising 

• Ensures ongoing strategic fundraising programs 

Job Requirements 

• 4-year college degree required 

• Three years of management experience preferred 

• An understanding of not-for-profit organizations and Board of Director 

                    accountability 

                     • First Aid/CPR/AED certification required

                     • Experience with intellectual and developmental disabilities in adults preferred
