JOB SUMMARY:
The work of this position involves the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical equipment at all City maintained facilities including but not limited to the City’s Filter Plant, raw water pump stations, and waste water pumping stations.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Knowledge of the basic operation of the Wastewater Treatment and Water Treatment plants.
Knowledge of City policies and procedures.
Knowledge of City, State, and National Electrical Codes.
Knowledge of the standard practices, materials, tools, and equipment of the electrical trade.
Knowledge of electronic circuits and analog, digital, and computer logic.
Knowledge of mechanically and hydraulically operated devices.
Skill in oral and written communication.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Extensive knowledge and level of competency commonly associated with completion of specialized training in the field of work, in addition to the basic skills typically associated with the completion of high school education/GED equivalent.
Sufficient experience to understand the basic principles relevant to the major duties of the position usually associated with completion of an apprenticeship/internship or having had a similar position for one year.
Ability to attain an Electrical Contractor-Non Restricted License.
Ability to obtain and maintain CDL.
Ability to serve as on-call personnel as required.
Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license in the state of residency.
Must already possess or obtain National Incident Management Systems (NIMS) 100 and 700 within three (3) months of employment.
