Job Summary


This position is responsible for assisting in supervising the counseling program for the institution. In conjunction with the AVP of Retention and Resources, this position co-supervises 2-3 employees on different locations.


Responsibilities


• Leads supervision, direction, and training of the work of counseling staff

• Serves as a Licensed Professional Counselor for the college

• Serves as a key member of the colleges CARE Team system providing training opportunities for CARE Team members

• Analyzes and interprets medical diagnostic reports, psycho-educational reports, and vocational assessments for eligibility

• Establishes and implements department policies and procedures

• Researches and selects appropriate technology; provides or coordinates related staff training

• Prepares annual departmental reports for the college and Board of Regents

• Serves on assigned committees and boards

• Assists the Assistant Vice President of Academic Retention and Resources with special projects within the Division

• Collaborates with educational and community agencies to provide services to students of the college

• This role is designed by the institution as a Position of Trust

• Performs related duties


Required Qualifications


• Knowledge and level of competency commonly associated with the completion of a master's degree in a course of study related to the occupational field

• Experience sufficient to thoroughly understand the diverse objectives and functions of the subunits in the division/department in order to direct and coordinate work within the division/department, usually interpreted to require three to five years of related experience

• Possession of or ability to readily obtain a valid driver's license for the type of vehicle or equipment operated


Preferred Qualifications


• Full licensure as LPC (licensed professional counselor) or LCSW (licensed clinical social worker) and ACS (Approved Clinical Supervisor)


Proposed Salary


$60,000 - $65,000 annually
