Job Summary
This position is responsible for designing and implementing programs, processes, and communications to guide GHC applicants in their transition to college. This includes new student orientations and the "First Six Weeks Programming" for student engagement.
Responsibilities
• Is responsible to understand, support, and carry out the college's mission, vision, and values and comply with mandates and regulations of government and accrediting bodies
• Coordinates the planning, implementation, and assessment of all new student orientation and transitions programming across all instructional sites
• Responsible for the planning, organizing and implementation of Student Engagement's "First Six Weeks" programming
• Works with the student ambassadors for their training as orientation leaders
• Chairs the orientation committee; coordinates the work of the orientation leadership team on orientation initiatives
• Oversees the development and maintenance of the new student orientation website and the orientation sign up website
• Serves as a primary contact for orientation-related issues and questions from students, faculty, and staff
• Responsible for developing, maintaining, and assessing a student communication and outreach plan from acceptance to matriculation
• Serves as a GHC 411 ticket system super user; informs other departments of changes, bounced tickets, lingering unowned tickets, open and stalled tickets; provides ticket system training
• Collaborates with other student success units as well as departments across campus
• Participates in college initiatives and events to benefit students and the college
• Serves on college committees as needed
• Performs related duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
• Knowledge and level of competency commonly associated with the completion of a bachelor's degree in a course of study related to the occupational field
• Sufficient experience to understand the basic principles relevant to the major duties of the position usually associated with the completion of an apprenticeship/internship or having had a similar position for one year
• Possession of or ability to readily obtain a valid driver's license Issued by the State of Georgia for the type of vehicle or equipment operated

• Knowledge of computers and job-related software programs
• Skill in the provision of customer service
• Skill in the analysis of problems and the development and implementation of solutions
