POSITION SUMMARY:
The YMCA’s Community Youth Development Coordinator will lead the Y’s Learn, Grow and THRIVE program at Restoration Rome — a high-impact, high-quality, no-cost after-school and summer program.
This part-time position (16-20 hours per week) role sits at the intersection of youth development, education, and community, and is ideal for a dynamic professional who thrives in collaborative, youth-centered environments.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Design and deliver after-school and summer learning experiences. Collaborate with families, educators, and community stakeholders to create a culture of belonging and support student progress.
Plan and lead engaging, developmentally appropriate activities for students 2nd – 6th grade for the after-school program and in the summer.
Supervise a team of part-time and volunteer youth development counselors.
Use data to track student engagement and program outcomes, driving continuous improvement.
Manage program operations, communications, and budget oversight.
Utilize trauma-informed skills to manage behaviors and create safe spaces within the program.
Manage classroom spaces to ensure a safe, clean, and well-organized environment, including supply management, budget tracking, and logistics related to student activities.
As capacity allows, provide support to other YMCA programs under the THRIVE umbrella, including anti-hunger initiatives and the Teen Boys Program.
QUALIFICATIONS:
2+ years in youth development, education, or nonprofit leadership.
Trust-Based Relational Intervention Practitioner (TBRI) preferred.
Experience supervising staff and managing program logistics.
Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
You can model developmental and relationship skills.
Commitment to anti-racist, inclusive leadership.
Bachelor's degree preferred (Associate’s required).
1+ year experience and or practicing knowledge of SEL and restorative practices. TBRI practitioner preferred.
Completion CPR/First AID/AED training required within 30 days of hire and kept current while employed by the YMCA.
21+ years old with a valid drivers license

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use a computer for extended periods of time and be able to communicate using a computer and phone/smart device. The employee frequently is required to sit and reach and must be able to move around the work environment.
The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and be able to sit, stand, kneel occasionally.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust.
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
