POSITION DESCRIPTION
The Communications Coordinator supports the ministry of Rome First UMC by keeping members and the community informed about activities and opportunities. This individual works a flexible schedule of 15 hours a week, meeting deadlines as needed and attending the monthly staff meeting.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Produce and send the weekly e-newsletter.
Continue Rome First’s robust social media presence and look for new platforms and opportunities that might be useful in sharing our ministry.
Create materials to advertise events and opportunities and work with vendors to produce those materials in a timely manner.
Maintain the church’s website, ensuring that it presents current information in an easy-to-understand format.
Participate fully as a team member of the church staff by attending staff meetings (when possible) and staff gatherings and retreats unless excused by the senior pastor.
Manage other duties as assigned.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
Have basic knowledge of the United Methodist Church.
Possess strong verbal and written communication skills.
Work well with others to share information in clear and engaging ways.
Be proficient in using social media and content creation platforms.
Understand basic principles of design and layout.
Successfully manage multiple projects simultaneously.
ADDITIONAL DETAILS
Reports to the Senior Pastor. Salary $15 hour, paid monthly at end of month.
