Chemical Operator
Number of openings: 2 – night shift
Normal work shifts: 6pm – 6am
Overtime IS required for this position
Hourly "Non-exempt" position

The Lewis Chemical Company, located in Rome, GA, that has been in business for over 16 years has an immediate opening for a night shift chemical operator in our production facility.

The Chemical Operator is responsible for operating batch chemical processing systems according to batch record instructions in a safe, efficient, and clean manner. They are responsible for mix/blending and packaging of chemicals both hazardous and non-hazardous in compliance with current environmental standards and regulations.

Qualifications: 1 to 2 years of experience in a manufacturing setting and/or chemical company experience preferred. High School Diploma or GED required. Must be able to read, write, and comprehend Standard English. Successful completion of a pre-employment background check and drug screen is required.


Physical Requirements: 
• Ability to lift and carry up to up to 50 pounds, frequently.
• Ability to sit, stand, and climb stairs for up to 12 hours per day.
• Able to climb ladders and work at heights up to 20 feet, on occasion.
• Able to perform manual dexterity tasks.
• Occasional turning, twisting, stooping, bending, and reaching.
• Requires ability to wear a respirator for up to 4 hours a day and meet facial hair guidelines.
