Coosa Country Club is a premier private country club committed to providing an exceptional member experience through outstanding golf, racquets, aquatics, dining, social events, and hospitality.

Our culinary program is an important part of the Coosa experience. With three distinct dining venues, private events, member functions, seasonal programming, and a growing calendar of elevated culinary experiences, we are seeking a talented and motivated Chef de Cuisine to join our leadership team and help take our food program to the next level.

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Chef de Cuisine will play a key leadership role in the daily culinary operations of Coosa Country Club under the Direct Supervision and Guidance of our New Executive Chef and Senior Food and Beverage Director Adam O'Hara. This position will work closely with Club leadership and the culinary team to deliver consistently excellent food, outstanding presentation, exceptional service support, and memorable dining experiences for our members and guests. We strive to deliver the best in class in Hospitality and Culinary Excellence. 

The ideal candidate is a hands-on culinary professional who combines creativity and culinary excellence with strong organization, cost awareness, leadership, and a genuine passion for hospitality.

This position will oversee culinary execution across our three restaurants, private events, banquets, member functions, seasonal programming, and special culinary experiences.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Culinary Leadership

  • Lead and oversee daily culinary operations across three Club dining venues.
  • Maintain consistently high standards for food quality, flavor, presentation, freshness, and execution.
  • Develop and execute creative menus that reflect seasonal ingredients, current culinary trends, and the expectations of a private club membership.
  • Collaborate with Club leadership on new menu concepts, specials, promotions, and culinary programming.
  • Ensure consistency in recipes, portion sizes, plating, and overall presentation.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, efficient, and professional kitchen environment.

Member Dining & Hospitality

  • Create memorable dining experiences for Coosa members and their guests.
  • Understand and respond to member preferences and feedback.
  • Support the Club's commitment to hospitality and service excellence.
  • Work closely with Front-of-House leadership to ensure smooth communication between the culinary and service teams.
  • Maintain a professional, positive, and team-oriented presence throughout Club operations.

Private Events & Catering

  • Lead culinary execution for weddings, tournaments, member events, banquets, corporate functions, private parties, and other Club events.
  • Assist with menu planning and event-specific culinary concepts.
  • Coordinate production schedules, staffing, preparation, and execution for large-scale events.
  • Ensure food is prepared and presented at the highest possible standard regardless of event size.
  • Support the Club's continued growth in private events and catering revenue.

Menu Development

  • Develop seasonal and rotating menus for Club dining venues.
  • Create innovative daily and weekly specials.
  • Participate in menu tastings and member-focused culinary events.
  • Help develop specialty culinary experiences and themed dinners.
  • Continuously evaluate menu performance and make recommendations for improvement.

Food Cost & Inventory Management

  • Maintain strong food-cost awareness and accountability.
  • Assist with food purchasing, receiving, storage, and inventory control.
  • Monitor portion control, waste, spoilage, and product utilization.
  • Work within established budgets and financial goals.
  • Maintain strong relationships with approved vendors and ensure product quality.

Team Leadership & Development

  • Train, coach, mentor, and develop culinary staff.
  • Establish clear expectations for performance, professionalism, cleanliness, and teamwork.
  • Assist with scheduling and staffing based on Club business levels and events.
  • Promote a positive kitchen culture built on accountability, communication, respect, and teamwork.
  • Lead by example and remain actively engaged in daily kitchen operations.

Food Safety & Sanitation

  • Maintain strict compliance with all local, state, and Club food-safety standards.
  • Ensure proper food handling, storage, sanitation, labeling, and temperature control.
  • Maintain kitchen cleanliness and organization at all times.
  • Support successful health inspections and Club food-safety initiatives.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum of 3–5 years of professional culinary experience, preferably in a private club, resort, hotel, upscale restaurant, or high-volume hospitality environment.
  • Culinary degree or formal culinary training preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of classical and contemporary culinary techniques.
  • Experience with banquet and high-volume event production strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and develop culinary teams.
  • Strong understanding of food costs, purchasing, inventory, and portion control.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, member-focused environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to consistency.
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events as Club operations require.
  • ServSafe certification or equivalent food-safety certification preferred.
