This position is responsible for operating a gas or diesel bus on routes for a transit agency and to observe state and city speed regulations, safety regulations and policies, as well as providing excellent customer service to the passengers the agency serves.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must be at least 21 years of age with an excellent driving record, as verified through Georgia Motor Vehicle Department.        
• Must maintain a valid driver’s license and possess or have the ability to readily obtain and maintain a valid Class B commercial driver’s license with a Passenger Endorsement (CDL/BP). 
• Fluency in English required, knowledge of Spanish helpful.
• Must be willing to work shifts that vary from day to evening as part of a 5 day a week operation.  
• Candidates must pass a substance abuse screening and those receiving conditional offer of employment must pass a medical examination, as required by the Department of Transportation.
• Ability to read, write and perform mathematical calculations at a level commonly associated with the completion of high school or the equivalent.
