SUMMARY of POSITION

The Bistro Attendant is a member of the Food and Beverage team and is responsible for greeting

every guest with a smile and positive attitude, taking orders, preparing and delivering items,

following accurate cash handling and room charge procedures, organizing and maintaining a

clean service area, cleaning tables and the restaurant area, and following all local health and

alcohol laws. Additional responsibilities include maintaining an inventory of needed supplies and

being familiar with the hotel’s amenities and hours of operation. The Bistro Attendant is

responsible for fulfilling guest orders and completing sales transactions and performing other

support functions which include cleaning the food preparation and customer seating areas,

stocking, and maintaining inventory.

o Assure that all transactions with guests are handled in a legal, ethical manner.

o Comply with Company Standards of Service as outlined for Yonah Capital.

o Project a favorable image of Yonah Capital to the public at all times.

o Treats guests, vendors, customers and co-workers with professionalism and respect at all

times.

o Complete Departmental, Yonah Capital, and Brand standards training as assigned.

o Maintains a clean and neat appearance at all times. A complete uniform (or business

dress for non-uniformed associates) must be worn at all times in public areas, including

name tag.

o Have a thorough knowledge of emergency procedures.

o Perform all duties and responsibilities in a timely and efficient manner in accordance with

established company policies and procedures to achieve the overall objectives of this

position.

o Politely greets customers and takes food and beverage orders, provides information

about the products and looks for opportunity to "up-sell" Bistro products.

o Prepares all drink orders to Starbucks and Courtyard standards.

o Operates MICROS cash register and receives payment from customers in cash or credit

card, accurately counts and provides change to customers as required, and follows all

hotel customer service and cash handling policies and procedures.

o Cleans and stocks as directed and required.

o Perform any and all other duties as requested by the Bistro Supervisor and/ or

management.


EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE


High school diploma or general education degree or equivalent combination of education and

experience required.

A prior demonstrated ability to interact with guests and fellow teammates in a friendly,

enthusiastic, and professional manner.

Requires the ability to bend, twist, and stand to perform normal job functions.

Requires the ability to speak, read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence and

policy documents, as well as converse comfortably with guests. Some prior cash handling

and customer service experience required.

occasionally required to lift up to 40 pounds. The vision requirements include:

close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
