The Charter School of Education and Human Sciences at Berry College invites applications for an Assistant Teacher at the Berry College Child Development Center (CDC). The CDC seeks an enthusiastic, kind, patient, and compassionate educator committed to fostering a robust, safe, and supportive learning environment for all CDC students.

The Berry College Child Development Center is a private, tuition-based laboratory school under the governance of the Berry College Charter School of Education and Human Sciences. Licensed by the Georgia Department of Early Care and Learning, the CDC combines the remarkable resources of Berry College with talented faculty and staff to provide an outstanding example of best practices for preschool education. The result is a thriving community of young learners ages three to five. The undergraduate college students, faculty, staff, and administrators are all dedicated to the education of the head, heart, and hands.

The Assistant Teacher assists the Lead Teacher in the preschool classroom with all areas of instruction: planning, organizing materials, and small group instruction. This individual will maintain records related to state licensing requirements. The Assistant Teacher supervises children at free play and instructional times. The Assistant Teacher is expected to communicate effectively with families, maintaining essential confidentiality. This individual will also train and supervise student workers. This is a 12-month, 40-hour-per-week hourly position (July - June) with benefits. The ideal candidate should enjoy working with four and five-year-olds, understand how they learn, and be dedicated to creating a nurturing learning atmosphere for every child.



Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma, training in early childhood/ elementary education, and a minimum of two years of previous experience working in an early childhood setting.

Preferred Qualifications: An associate's or bachelor's degree in early childhood / elementary education or a related field and three or more years of previous experience working in an early childhood setting. To apply, click here.
