JOB SUMMARY:

This position offers a leadership opportunity for an experienced finance professional assisting the Finance Director and the Purchasing Director with daily operations of the departments.  This is an additional second assistant director that will work with all city departments, oversee city financial reporting and work with operations in the Finance division.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Knowledge of administration, especially as related to management and supervision.

Knowledge of principles and techniques of accounting, payroll, purchasing and budgeting.

Knowledge of special requirements pertaining to accounting for and investment of government funds.

Knowledge of relevant federal and state laws, local ordinances, departmental regulations and procedures, and city policies and procedures.

Knowledge of the operations of other city departments in the areas of purchasing, accounting, and cash collection.

Skill in oral and written communications.

Skill in operating a calculator and personal computer.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university, with a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or a related field; Master’s Degree or CPA preferred.

Extensive professional experience in accounting and administration including five years professional experience with three years of professional-level supervisory experience.  (Municipal experience preferred).

Must already possess or obtain National Incident Management Systems (NIMS) 100, 200, 700, and 800 within three (3) months of employment.

Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license from state of residency.
