Job Summary


This position is responsible for providing quality support to students, faculty, and staff of the college's accounting and finances.


This position has direct supervision for Accounts Payable, Payroll, and Accounting positions.


Responsibilities


• Is responsible to understand, support, and carry out the college's mission, vision, and values and comply with mandates and regulations of government and accrediting bodies.


• Manages the accounting area functions including Asset Management, Payroll, Accounts Payable, and Grants


• Interprets and implements Federal, State and Board of Regents rules and regulations


• Prepares the financial section for the Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System (IPEDS)


• Prepares annual reports including: Public Private Ventures (PPV) Cash Flows and Projection, Transparency in Government Act (TIGA), Merchant Card Services (MCS), and Schedule of Expenditures of Federal Awards (SEFA)


• Holds responsibility for monthly and annual ledger closings


• Prepares the Annual Financial Report, Budgetary Compliance Report, Annual Expenditure Report, Annual Risk Assessment, and quarterly reconciliations to the university system offices


• Prepares and maintains monthly grant invoices, grant reconciliations, and grant journal entries


• Manages asset management module including asset additions, retirements, inventory, asset journal entries, and asset reconciliations.


• Monitors daily ledger transactions, ensuring data integrity, troubleshooting and resolving financial reconciling items


• Functions as the data steward for GAFirst Financials (PeopleSoft)


• Advises and/or assists Directors, Vice Presidents, departments, administrators, and auditors in financial requests; coordinates and serves as the primary contact during financial audits


• Manages professional staff including Accounts Payable, Payroll, and Accounting.


• Responsible for providing support in the college's banking activity


• Performs other duties as assigned


Required Qualifications


Bachelor's Degree in accounting or related field from accredited institution with five (5) to ten (10) years of accounting experience in a position of customer service.


Preferred Qualifications


Master's Degree in a related field and/or CPA certification


Experience in progressively responsible financial roles including supervisory duties


Experience in higher education


Proposed Salary


This is a Full Time, Fully Benefitted Position.


Salary: $74,880.00


This is a Position of Trust


This position will handle budget and confidential information


Some driving for the college will be required
