Position Title:               Assistant/Associate/Full Professor of Theatre

Position Status:             Full-time, tenure-track, 10-month contract, beginning August 1, 2025

Reports to:                    Chair of Department of Theatre, Musical Theatre, and Dance and the Dean of School of Fine and Performing Arts

Qualifications:              Terminal degree (i.e. MFA, PhD) in Directing, Acting, Theatre, Theatre History, or related field. ABD candidates and applicants holding an MA degree with substantial professional experience will be considered. Demonstrated excellence in teaching at the collegiate level, especially in acting and directing.

Classification:              Full-Time Faculty – Exempt

Job Summary:              Full-time, tenure-track position beginning in August 2025. Primary responsibilities include:

• Teaching theatre courses, including acting and directing.
• Directing two staged productions per academic year.
• Recruiting to and building a theatre program.
• Course design and curriculum development.
• Maintaining a teaching load of 12 credits/semester, 24 credits/year.
• Academic advising.
• Maintaining an active professional profile.
• Service to the university, community, and church.
• Contingent on candidate qualifications, additional responsibilities may include general theatre courses or directing the student improv troupe.
• Other responsibilities assigned by the Department Chair and/or Dean.

The ideal candidate will have an established record of success in growing a program and two+ years of professional experience as a performer, educator, and director.
