Job Summary:
Experienced and detail-oriented role to lead our AP team and oversee all functions related to accounts payable processing. This role will ensure timely and accurate processing of invoices, maintain compliance with company policies and accounting regulations, and manage relationships with vendors and internal stakeholders. This role requires strong analytical skills, leadership capabilities, and a thorough understanding of AP systems and best practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee end-to-end accounts payable operations, including invoice processing, payment runs, expense reimbursements, and vendor inquiries.
- Ensure timely and accurate payment processing while maintaining proper documentation and approvals.
- Create monthly billing for inter-company charges and post to general ledger.
- Develop and implement policies, procedures, and internal controls to improve efficiency and mitigate risks.
- Reconcile accounts payable transactions and ensure accurate general ledger postings.
- Prepare and analyze AP aging reports, accruals, and other relevant financial reports.
- Collaborate with other departments to resolve discrepancies and improve workflow processes.
- Ensure compliance with applicable tax laws, regulatory requirements, and company policies.
- Assist in month-end and year-end closing processes, including audits and external reporting requirements.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
- Minimum of 5–7 years of experience in accounts payable.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, AP best practices, and financial systems.
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other accounting software tools.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact across departments and with external vendors.
- High level of integrity and attention to detail.
Preferred Attributes:
- Experience in a shared services or multi-entity environment.
- Familiarity with automated AP tools and process improvement initiatives.
- Demonstrated ability to manage change and drive process enhancements.
