1st SHIFT MANUFACTURING SUPERVISOR - ASSEMBLY/EXTRUSION

About the Job:

The Production Supervisor is responsible for daily management of employees and production on their shift. They must meet production, quality, and safety needs set by management. They support Operations goals by managing employees and organizing workflows.

Position Type/Compensation/Hours:

  • $24/hour - $30/hour depending on skills & experience 
  • Full time/Hourly/Weekly pay
  • 1st Shift:  M-F 7:30 AM - 4:30 PM

Job Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 2-5 Years of Supervisory/managerial experience in a manufacturing environment required.
  • Must have Extrusion experience
  • Must demonstrate computer skills: ERP, payroll data entry, and MS Office.
  • Good analytical and organizational skills.
  • Good management and leadership skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage time efficiently.
  • Ability to be an effective team member.
  • Ability to communicate effectively.
  • Ability to understand and use ERP system.
  • Ability to use/understand measuring tools & test fixtures (torque test, optical comparator, torque wrench, micrometers, calipers).

Responsibilities

  • Ability to learn and operate all the machinery in Extrusion and Flat-Wire Conduit.
  • Must have a working knowledge with Assembly equipment and be able to train new operators as needed.
  • Responsible for the daily management of employees for their department within the facility.
  • Expected to meet the production, quality, and safety needs set by management.
  • Maintaining an efficient workplace by assigning jobs and duties in a fair and equitable manner.
  • Responsible for enforcing all guidelines, policies, and safety regulations.
  • Responsible for corrective actions.
  • Responsible for complying with SUHNER policies
  • Responsible for complying with federal, state, and local regulations regarding personnel.
  • Responsible for creating an environment for personal growth and development of the employees.
  • Responsible for attending supervisor meetings.
  • Conducting shift kick off meetings including production expectations and feedback for previous days productivity.
  • Ensure 5S in the department is maintained.
  • Reports directly to the Production Manager.

Work Environment/Physical Demands:

  • Able to stand at least 2 hours without resting.
  • Able to lift and carry at least 50lbs.
  • Exposure to moving mechanical parts.
  • Regularly required to climb, push, pull, sit, stand, bend, crouch, and crawl.
  • Able to bend and/or stoop to the floor.
  • Climate-controlled facility.
