Carryout and dine-in service for the 57th edition of the Knights of Columbus Labor Day Barbecue is set for Monday, Sept. 1, at the Rome Civic Center. Online preorders have begun for bulk carryout-only sales of barbecue, Brunswick stew, chicken, ribs, carnitas and baked beans.

Indoor dining also is available with plates selling for $12 each and featuring your choice of pork, beef, chicken or carnitas with baked beans, coleslaw, bread, chips, tea or lemonade. 

The civic center doors and the drive-through lane open at 10 a.m. on Labor Day and continue until 2 p.m. or sold out. 

The bulk order menu includes: 

•Half rack of ribs, $20. 

•Pound of pulled beef barbecue, $12. 

•Pound of pulled pork barbecue, $12.

 •Pound of pork cantinas, $12. 

•Quart of Brunswick stew, $12. 

•Half a chicken, $12. 

•Quart of baked beans, $10.

Also available on the day of the barbecue are: 

•Plate with pork or beef barbecue, pork carnitas or half chicken with baked beans, cole slaw, chips, bun and drink, $12. (dine-in or take out; no online orders). 

•Pork carnita plates, $12 (dine-in or take out; no online orders).

 •Credit cards, checks and cash will be accepted at the civic center. 

The Knights are preparing roughly 700 pounds of pork, 200 pounds of beef, 150 half chickens, 275 half racks of ribs, 550 quarts of Brunswick stew and 150 quarts of baked beans. 

All proceeds are returned to Rome. The Knights have donated $325,000 to date, including Haven Health Clinic, Mercy Senior Care, Habitat for Humanity, Aid to Veterans, Network Day Services, Coats for Kids, Special Olympics, Rome Community Kitchen, Habitat for Humanity and others.
