The Rome-Floyd Commission on Children and Youth, a 501(c)3 organization and the local Family Connection Collaborative, seeks a Part-time Program and Initiatives Coordinator who will be responsible for the assigned programs and initiatives that the Rome Floyd Commission on Children and Youth undertakes.
Description
Family Connection of Floyd County is a county collaborative organization that works to improve conditions for children and families within Floyd County as part of the statewide Georgia Family Connection Partnership network. The Board of Directors seeks an outgoing and self-driven individual to provide coordination services for the partners participating in this work.
This position has the opportunity to directly impact the Rome Floyd Community by offering services, events, and care to children, families and organizations of need. This position will have the opportunity to create his or her own vision in the events offered and community involvement by drawing in new members, fundraising, and community collaborations.
Please Note:
The ideal candidate for this job will need to have a very flexible schedule understanding that this position often requires your attendance and participation in after hour events and meetings.
Responsibilities
Under the leadership and support of the RFCCY Executive Director, the Programs/Initiatives Coordinator will:
- Serve as the community liaison for RFCCY
- Provide a monthly update to the Board on Programs & Initiatives for the previous month including numbers of attendees/goals achieved/successes/etc.
- Provide a monthly update on the number of families assisted/successes achieved/etc. from the services of RFCCY
- Manage external programming and initiatives such as:
- Collaborative Collection Newsletter,
- Books, Barbers and Beauticians,
- The Little Black Dress IMPACT,
- Family Support Strategy Team Allocation
- RFCCY Annual Golf Tournament
- RFCCY “Are You Smarter Than a 3rd Grader?”
- Maintain the RFCCY Social Media Platforms
- Prepare RFCCY Executive Committee and Board of Director Meeting Agendas
- Step in to keep meeting minutes for Executive Committee and Board of Director Meetings in absence of secretary.
- Maintain monthly calendar of events.
- Supports fundraising goals.
Experience
The ideal candidate will have an associate degree or a four-year degree from an accredited college or university in Human Services, Health Science, Psychology, Business and/or at least one to three years of relevant experience with high standards of ethics and integrity. Applicants should also have intermediate Microsoft Office, research, and spreadsheet skills and possess flexibility. Applicants with experience writing grants for funding and social media experience is preferred. Applicants must be highly organized and have excellent written and verbal communication skills. Must possess the ability to interact with the public while showing respect and honor with people's belief system. The new hire must possess Integrity, Punctuality and Dependability. Must be responsible, outgoing, a self-starter, organized, and possess good interpersonal skills, customer service, oral and written communication skills.
Desired Knowledge and Skills
The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and writing skills and be able to assist with the development and implementation of the Collaborative’s annual plan, including conducting an annual data review; planning and leading Collaborative meetings; and engaging community stakeholders in the work of the Collaborative. Applicant must be able to provide assistance in preparing required board and state reports for the Collaborative. The ideal candidate must be able to work effectively with a diverse range of individuals. The ideal candidate will have strong skills in the following areas: Grant Writing, Fundraising, Computers, social media (Facebook, Instagram, and Canva) and Marketing, Finance, Budgeting, Organization and Leadership.

Salary and Benefits:
Compensation package will range between $15-$17 depending on experience, not to exceed 15-20 hours/week, professional development resources. This position is non-exempt.
Start Date:
The position will begin on October 1st, 2023.
