Welding Supervisor

Responsible for the safety, quality, scheduling, delivery, and continuous improvement of Operations.

Required Qualifications

• GED or High School Diploma
• (1) year of demonstrated lead associate or above experience
• Intermediate level computer skills (MS Word, Excel) – passing score 80%
• Work Keys Testing-Level 4
• Flexibility to work all shifts when necessary.

Preferred Qualifications

• BS/BA degree
• 3-5 Years of Management/Supervisory Experience
• QS/ISO 9000 Experience
• Lean Manufacturing/JIT Environment Experience
• Automotive Industry Experience

Major Duties

• Responsible for effective utilization of labor and equipment, maximization of quality, safety and productivity within cost and delivery parameters.
• Continuous improvement in quality, safety, productivity, delivery.
• Act as a change agent in the utilization of lean manufacturing techniques.
• Exercise ethical and professional practices in hiring, training, discipline, coaching, development and separation with all staff within department.
• Mentor salaried and hourly personnel for development within the organization.
• Preparation of all reports for department on daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly basis.
• Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and written.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• Effectively leads subordinates while ensuring a high level of morale, efficiency and development.
• Shows initiative in continuous improvement in all areas.
• Active participation in daily and weekly production and management meetings.
• Ability to make administrative/procedural decisions and judgments.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of records and information.
• Ability to exercise good judgment in appraising difficult situations and in making appropriate decisions.
