Quality Control Supervisor

Suzuki MFG is seeking a qualified applicant for the position of Quality Control Supervisor. This position is a full-time position Monday-Friday, Overtime is required and some Saturdays. 
The main duties of this position are to communicate with Suzuki Japan, internal departments, and customers through quality control activities for in-house parts, customer parts, imported parts, and products and to inspect, judge, take action, and control whether products are manufactured as required based on drawings and technical standards, using various measuring instruments.
Principal Task:

  1. Manage Quality personnel labor including time and attendance.
  2. Provide guidance and direction to Quality personnel and discipline when necessary.
  3. Audit performance of Quality personnel to ensure they are following our standards and protecting our customers from receiving a product that is less than standard.
  4. Constantly evaluate that the location and use of Quality personnel are giving us the results that we expect from Operations.
  5. Ensure logistics of Document Control and Quality Improvement Plan are executed.
  6. Provide data and assist in End of Month activities.
  7. Primary sign off on 1st order/display/MR inspections.
  8. Investigate events / non-conformances encountered during operations, such as manufacturing, testing or holding of products. Partner with operations; work on the production floor and in a team environment to provide on the spot input and guidance in responding to deviations. Lead investigation teams. Make recommendations to department management regarding results of investigation and process improvements, when necessary. Work with impacted department management to identify appropriate corrective and preventive actions.
  9. Provide support during internal and external audits and ensure that assigned audit observations are addressed quickly and completely to maintain readiness levels.
  10. Coordinate Production, Staff, and Finished Goods Audits as necessary. Identify and communicate compliance deficiencies to Upper Management, recommend appropriate corrective actions when necessary.
  11. Assist in developing and implementing required programs and policies.
  12. Assist with standards implementations and modifications.
  13. Assist in containment of non-conformities
  14. Assist with Orientation training and retraining.
  15. Be a resource for Production Management Team for Quality guidelines, specs, and tolerances
  16. Calibration management of plants equipment and tools used daily in assembling SMAC products
  17. Travel to the supplier to address ongoing issues and initiate startup of a new mode

  9. Assist in process improvements for the reduction of defects, reduction of cycle times and the reduction of costs
  10. Desire to increase product dependability and customer satisfaction
  11. Ability to work calmly under pressure
  12. Punctuality and reliability
  13. Knowledge of PPAP
  14. Knowledge of ISO-9001, and ISO-14001 standards a plus
  15. Knowledge of metrology equipment used in a quality environment (CMM, Layout, imaging, and other various tools)
