General Manager, Guest Experience

Scope of Position: The General Manager, Guest Experience will lead and impact the entire guest experience through the innovative delivery of retreat operations and culinary services, including catering, sales, and event planning. Paired with responsibilities specific to the guest experience at WinShape Retreat, the ability to adapt to the needs of WinShape Foundation’s five ministries, as well as internal support services, will be critical to the success of this leadership role. The General Manager must demonstrate both Christ-centered servant leadership and a desire to love people through the ministry of hospitality. This individual will be able and eager to lead, inspire, and motivate a diverse staff to glorify God by creating experiences that transform lives.

Reports to: Senior Director, Business Services


  • Casts a vision for hospitality and experience creation at WinShape and provides an unwavering focus on delivering the transformational experience for the guests served
  • Leads, mentors, and develops a 150+ person Guest Experience team
  • Offers exceptional guest service to all WinShape Retreat guests by providing a transformative space to relax, recharge, and regroup
  • Maintains positive relationships with members of the WinShape Leadership Team and community partners
  • Oversees the operations of a 100-room retreat facility, including food services, events, lodging, and sales
  • Develops and stewards the annual budget (~$6 million) for the Guest Experience support service
  • Promotes a culture of service, unity, and teamwork among all departments in Guest Experience
  • Leads the innovative development and implementation of strategic plans for sales, event planning, and guest and food services


  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in the hospitality industry, preferably hotel or restaurant management
  • At least 10 years of management experience in leading, coaching and developing people
  • Proficiency with computer software systems
  • Ability to communicate with clarity and simplicity
  • Strong time management, organization, and prioritization skills
  • Ability to travel on a limited basis
  • Must be willing and able to work evenings and weekends as business needs require
