LPN

The Licensed Practical Nurse under the supervision of  Mercy Care's Nursing Supervisor  coordinates  access to healthcare, health education, and preventive services for all clients of Mercy Care. Performs basic patient care procedures including wound care, vital signs, infection disease control and universal precautions, also administers medications as ordered by the client's physician. Responsible for maintaining and ordering medical supplies and materials under the guidance of the nursing supervisor.  Performs light administrative duties, such as copying, charting and filing.  Participates in health fairs or community advocacy events .

Provides direct patient care and/or support activities appropriate to ages served; primarily adults ages 18-65 or geriatric patients ages over 65. May also include care for infant age 0-1 year, child ages 1-12 years or adolescent ages 13-17 years.

Complies with all departmental and health system policies and procedures.
