Front Office Medical Clerk

Job Type: Full-Time, Monday – Friday 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. (overtime as required). Entry Level: $12/hr. (starting pay), $12.50/hr. (after satisfactorily completing 90 days of employment)
 
Primary Responsibilities: Check-in and check-out positions, providing support and coverage for our receptionist, creating/processing referrals, reconciliation of patient revenue aging reports, processing returned mail, and other responsibilities as requested.
 
Detailed Description of Primary and Other Responsibilities: Patient check-in/out, answering incoming calls/receptionist, scheduling/rescheduling appointments, review and scanning documents into the EMR, new patient registration, verifying and updating patient demographics, collecting and posting co-pays, coinsurance, and deductibles, discussing account balances and receiving payments on accounts, verifying insurance plans, end of day balancing, creating/processing referrals, review and maintenance of past due accounts, reviewing weekly reports of upcoming appointments for possible insurance issues or balances requiring collection procedures, reconciliation of revenue aging reports, processing returned mail, assisting our aesthetician department as requested (scheduling, check-in/out, product purchases), inspecting and cleaning the patients’ waiting area and restrooms throughout the day as it becomes necessary, maintaining organization of the supply room, product and supply inventory, taking part in our rotation for the completion of clinic, and other duties as needed and required.
 
Minimum Qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalent, some college and/or a minimum of one year related work experience, providing customer/patient service in a friendly and professional manner, strong communication skills (written and oral), excellent phone etiquette, ability to work in a fast-paced environment, proficiency with computer/data entry, HIPAA Compliant. ***Our front office team welcomes the opportunity to provide the right candidate with all the necessary hands-on training to become successful at Northwest Georgia Dermatology.
