Water Crew Leader
We are looking for a Water Crew Leader!
The purpose of this classification is to operate heavy equipment and perform manual work functions associated with installation, repair, and maintenance of the County water utility lines and related systems and equipment.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Provides supervision, direction, and guidance to employees; organizes workload; makes work assignments; monitors work in progress; inspects completed work.
• Installs, maintains, and repairs water utility systems; locates water leaks and repairs pipe leaks; clears blocked pipes; cuts and installs pipe; digs holes or trenches; turns water mains on/off; installs/replaces and reads water meters; loads and unloads trucks; shovels materials.
• Maintains inventory of supplies, tools, and equipment for use at work sites.
• Performs general and preventive maintenance; inspects equipment; washes and cleans equipment; monitors equipment operations to maintain efficiency and safety; reports faulty equipment.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
High School Diploma or equivalent and one (1) year of experience in water utility construction and maintenance. Candidates may qualify with any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job. Must possess and maintain a valid Commercial Driver’s License.
