Director of Distance Learning

Georgia Northwestern Technical College is seeking qualified applicants for the position of the Director of Distance Learning to be located on the Floyd County Campus and may be required to travel to other campuses to meet operational requirements. This position will report to the Vice President of Academic Affairs. This position will be responsible for coordinating the establishment of goals, objectives, and priorities for distance education technology, educational technology, instructional computing, learning resources, etc.; assist with the development and implementation of operational policies, procedures, and standards for quality assurance in distance learning and areas related to distance learning; assess training/development needs; facilitate the creation, organization, and implementation of professional staff development programs/activities related to distance learning; provide technical assistance in the areas of curriculum revision and instructional strategies; perform all Blackboard installations, upgrades, and setup of Blackboard building blocks and learning tool integrations; coordinate eCampus courses and activities; and all other duties as assigned.
 
Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in a related field *and* Five (5) years of related work experience; comprehensive understanding of distance learning; and experience with learning management systems
 
Preferred Qualifications: Master’s degree in a related field; goal setting and strategic planning experience; proven work experience in instructional design and with instructional technology; experience with Blackboard Learning Management System; and familiarity with ADA guidelines.
 
Starting Salary: $60,000 - $70,000
